Unanswered: Remote SQL Server Registration by IP Address
I feel strange with sqlserver 2000 enterprise edition when we are going to register our server at remote place by ip address.
I am using two windows 2000(SP4) server box for Sql server 2000(SP3a) replication wit following methods-
1. ISDN Dialup line with NT1 terminator at both end.
2. Put router at both place and I can ping both server by IP address.
I register sqlserver 2000 default instance which is created by servername/sqlinstance like under-
1. Open enterprise manager.
2. browse sqlserver group
3. remove servername/sqlinstance
4. Registered by adding 192.168.0.1\sqlinstance at both site
Whenever I am going to register one server to another I got error – ‘SQL Server doesn’t exit or access denied’
