I don't have my SQL 7.0 reference in front of me, but I think there are limitations as to which version of SQL (Enterprise/Standard) could be installed on a given Operating System. There should be reference material on MS' web site, but I was unable to uncover it with a quick search (most of it deals with 2000 for obvious reasons).

Have you hugged your backup today?

Why are you bothering with 7.0? Whatever reason you may have is not enough to avoid installing AT LEAST MSDE, if not 2K Developer edition (only $40, I can finance it for you )
