    Unhappy Unanswered: crashes

    Access 2002 crashes when opening one database from another after approx. 3x's. I have to keep restoring my backup. I am using this code:

    Dim Wsh As New WshShell
    Dim LocalDb As String
    'set the localdb to the exact path and filename to the database you want opening
    LocalDb = "C:\My Other Database.mdb"
    Wsh.Run "msaccess """ & LocalDb & "", WshMaximizedFocus
    set wsh = nothing
    DoCmd.Quit acQuitSaveNone

    This allows me to put a link on both databases to toggle from one database to another. But, it crashed on me after approx. 3x's.
    Errors I am getting are as follows:
    Delayed write failed windows was unable to save all the data for the file
    device\lanman redirector The daa has been lost. The microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'msysdb' .

    I have compact on close setup on both databases. Could someone tell me why they are crashing.

    I am not sure why it is crashing. But maybe there is another way to accomplish what you are trying to do. Why do you need to open a second database?

    Code:
    dim ret
    ret = Shell(program, vbNormalFocus)

    crashes

    I'm not familiar with this code. Can you explain? This is how the client wants the database; to open one from the other.
