    Unanswered: Automatically select first row in combo box

    OK, so... I have a form with an unbound combo box that picks its values up from a table. I want the first record to be automatically selected on entry to the combo box to prevent the user from not selecting anything.

    I can see that I could make a recordset to find the first record and then make that the default value, or something like that, but my question is... is there a simpler way?

    In your OpenForm Event put
    Me.Combo="Whatever value you want"

    Lightbulb

    To show the first item use

    Me.Combo = Me.Combo.Column(0, 1)
