    Unanswered: "&_" string problem

    Hi All,

    in Oracle, when I insert into a table like :
    INSERT INTO "TEST" ("ID" ,"NAME" ) VALUES (15 , '&_')
    It does not accept "&_" string, it popup a window to input value of variable
    Please tell me what should I do?

    "&" Is used to create a temporary substitution variable and will prompt you for a value every time it is referenced.

    Concatenate & and _, such as:

    INSERT INTO test (id, name) VALUES (15, '&' || '_');

    In your SQL Plus session try the foll:

    SQL> set scan off
    SQL> INSERT INTO "TEST" ("ID" ,"NAME" ) VALUES (15 , '&_')

    1 row created.

    You can also use
    SQL> set escape on
