Unanswered: Create Database using a Script

    Hello All,

Does anybody have a script to create a Database in Oracle 9i standard from command Prompt.

I created a Database and also saved the script from the Oracle Administration. Then I deleted the database and then I tried to create the database using the Script from command prompt, it gives me the error "not connected to oracle".

I would be glad if somebody could give the script.

    Thanx.

    Cheers
    Sam.

successfully you have saved the bunch of scripts ...

createDB.sh within the database is started mount using pfile=<your pfile>
then your database will be created
and your environment must include ORACLE_SID

    Just a few words ...

I didn't create Ora9 DB from command prompt; however, I created Ora7 DB . Sequence of commands was
    CONNECT INTERNAL
    STARTUP NOMOUNT

    CREATE DATABASE your_db_name ...

Therefore, try to add this into your script; perhaps it'll help.

(I'm not sure, but - reading this forum - I *think* I once read that there's no longer CONNECT INTERNAL in Oracle ... can't remember, was it 10g or 9i or ... and that it was substituted with something like "connect sys as sysdba" or something like that. Well, I'm sure you'll get a proper response from one (or many) DBA's here who know the answer.)
