    Unanswered: Problem with IF's and query results

    I've created a query that checks for empty fields in records and asks the user to add detail. The only problem is I dont want the query to bring back no records if no data needs entering.
    The field needs to be blank sometimes so I cant force an entry to be made.

    Is an IF statement the way forward and if so how can I check if my query is bringing back any results?

    eg

    If ("DoCmd.OpenQuery stDocName, acViewNormal, acEdit") = Null Then .......

    You can use a recordSet Object then use its RecordCount property
