    Unanswered: RMAN Duplication

    Hi,

    We have recently began to use RMAN as our backup/recovery methodology. We run Sun Solaris, Oracle 9i with Veritas thrown into the mix.

    What I want to do is, duplicate the prod database to a test node, using a backup from approx a week ago. Now, the only method we can see to do this is to make all the backups which occurred after the one we want unavailable, and then do the duplicate. Is this the only way to do this? There has got to be an easier way to do this?

    Thanks in advance
    Brendan

    Just to close the loop - suspect I have found another method, although its not documented on metalink etc ..

    Syntax is

    DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO DUP UNTIL TIME 'SYSDATE-4';
