    Unanswered: Error trying to connect to database

    I'm writing an application in VB-6, to make use of an Access database. Operating system is Windows 2000.

    I'm using the following provider in my connection string:
    "Provider=Microsoft.JET.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\database.mdb"

    However, when I try to open the database, I keep getting the following error:

    "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed."

    What do I need to install to make this work? I've included Microsoft ActiveX Data Object 2.6 Library in my References list, installed Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 from the Microsoft website, the database path is correct. But still no joy.

    Any ideas how to make this work, or any additional drivers missing?

    where do you save your database?
    is it under any folder?

    "Provider=Microsoft.JET.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\database.mdb"
    try to change the path of your file and see...

    I dont' thnk that this will do much.
    You must have Microsoft ActiveX Data Object 2.7 Library
    and it will work fine
