    how can i get rid of the " - " in the field and make is eaqual to zero ?

    i wanted to change "-" in the field to "0" and i was able to do that by update query Thanks to jmahaffie

    could you not use an UPDATE query and change all the -'s to 0's? Or did you want to keep the - in the table?

    Code:
      DoCmd.RunSQL "UPDATE Table SET Table.Field3 = 0 WHERE Table.Field3=" & Chr(34) & "-" & Chr(34) & ""
    That'll replace all the dashes in Field3 with 0s. Whatever. Hope it helps.

    It didint Work !
    and i have mutiple tables !
    outpput shoudl be zero! thats the objective for me
    IS there a way i can do that in Query Desgin !

    also what is your field type? and where the actual numbers coming from? is it calculated field or a persistent field?
