    Exclamation Unanswered: URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!SP2-0027: Input is too long (> 2499 characters)

    Hi there,
    While executing an Insert Query from SQL*Plus i got this error,
    SP2-0027: Input is too long (> 2499 characters)....
    I had checked that the data size does not violate the data type limit.
    I has actually data size more than 3200 characters, n I wanna to insert that into table. It seems that SQL*Plus does not entertain the queries more than 2499 characters.
    I had also tried to increase the ArraySize option up to its maximum of 5000, but it too didn't worked.
    Please help me.
    Its Urgent.....
    Thanking you in anticipation.

    You are hitting the limit of what SQL*Plus can handle in a single line. Can you split the command over several lines? For example,

    INSERT ...
    VALUES
    ( 'blah blah ' ||
    'blah blah' );

    or perhaps (can't test this right now but worth a shot)

    INSERT ...
    VALUES
    ( 'blah blah-
    blah blah' );

    Hi William,
    Thanks for ur reply.
    Yeah I had also find out the same problem that SQL*Plus does not support queries of more than 2499 characters in the single line. But my concern is this if I break my queries in multiple line than what will reflect to the data coz I has to put the new line character within the data itself; Does it make sense?
    or whether I'll be able to retrive the correct form of data after inserting new line characters in it.
