    Unanswered: Installing Sybase Client Software

    Hi guys,

I have this CD titled "Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise, Windows NT PC Client 12.5" that i want to install and facing problems.

When i pop it in the Windows 2000 machine, the set up automatically kicks off and installation process starts, but when i pop it in Windows NT, or Windows XP, or Windows 2000 server machine i get a Java.exe error.

Do i need to set class path for JRE or shud i do something related to java to successfully install this client software.

    Thanks in advance

you could try setting the classpath for java_compiler as none which worked for me . The P4 machines do face the problem of the CD not starting up even though you have JDK installed .

In the environment variables create a new entry
    variable name = JAVA_COMPILER
    variable value = NONE

you can then try to install the client software.
    Hope this is helpful.
