    Unanswered: Query and Recordsets

    Hello all!

I was contemplating having a combo box where the people either picked something in the list or entered their own value. What I'd like to do with this combo box, however, is if they enter a new value, automatically add it (with maybe a msg box prompt) to the table. I would do this with ADO.

What I'm wondering is, if the combo box is already linked to this table, will the ADO connection to the table cause any extra overhead or will it already be made since the table is opened from the combo box?

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the idea, but I'm not really looking for ideas on HOW to do the addition of the value to the table. I'm looking for what the behind-the-scenes connection is doing and how much overhead is there by doing it this way. Or should I just have another form/table to add new values to. Of course, what I first mentioned seems to be a more "user-friendly" method.
