    Unanswered: Re-format Freetext with Formula

    I am running Crystal reports 8.5 on a MS-SQL database.

    I would like to run a formula that changes the font of data in a Free text field into a pre-defined Font. Eg Times New Roman.

    Is this possible - and how?
    Format Field>Font>Font formula::::but what formula.....

    I would appreciate any help.

    Look at the Menu

    You're nearly there...

    Format Field>Font>Font formula button

    Now take a look at the function list in the window and notice the selection of font names you can select, e.g. "Courier" would change the font to the Courier font... no surprise there.

    I'm not sure what or why you want to do this font change so can't really help at present with a formula but you can use any you like so an IF THEN ELSE statement would be fine:

    if thisfield like '*andy*' //the field contains the word andy
    then "courier"
    "times new roman"

    Alternatively, if you just want to change the default font for all text objects you can do this via File, Options command.

    Regards - Andy
