    Question Unanswered: Store Procedure, Trigger

    Hi All,

    I'm new in programming... may I know what's the benefit of using Store Procedure compare to using traditional coding in the application and what's the trigger for??

    Both stored procedure and trigger are executed on the same machine where the database is located. The main advantage is that the data needed for a stored procedure (or trigger) is not sent through the network. In this way you can increase the performance.
    Triggers are thought to keep data integrity.
