I am using:
Crystal Reports.NET
SQL Server 2000
C#

I have a situation where I have 2 servers, SERVER1 and SERVER2, and they are remotely connected using the server remote connection ability. On SERVER1, I have a UDF where I am trying to call another UDF on SERVER2 so that I can insert the results into a temporary table on SERVER1. I can have my UDF call a remote stored procedure, but I can't insert the results into a temporary table in the calling UDF. I am using the syntax:

select * from GAMESERVER1.Bingo.dbo.DoBankHistoryFunc( '1oct2004 8:00:00 am', '28oct2004 7:59:59 am', 1 )
get an error..

Invalid object name 'GAMESERVER1.dbo.DoBankHistoryFunc'.

And it does exist!! But if I convert the UDF call to a sp call...

EXEC GAMESERVER1.Bingo.dbo.DoBankHistory '1oct2004 8:00:00 am', '28oct2004 7:59:59 am', 1

it works fine... BUT I can't capture the results of a stored procedure call and insert them into a local temporary table....

INSERT INTO @TempWork
EXEC GAMESERVER1.Bingo.dbo.DoBankHistory '1oct2004 8:00:00 am', '28oct2004 7:59:59 am', 1

Is there a way to call a UDF, located on a remotely connected server from a local UDF? If so, HOW???
