    Unanswered: Exp.exe not starting ?

    I'm trying to run exp.exe on a Windows 2000 server with a 9.0.1.4.0 client to backup a database on a HP-Unix 64bit 9.2.0.1.0 database.

When I run the exp.exe, I can enter the username/password. After that, gets back to the command prompt and the export is not launched ???

    Any suggestions ?

You have to have connectivity to the other database from your windows 2000 machine. And you have to supply a valid username/password on the other server and supply a connection string on the login. For example

    exp userid=sys/sys_password@other_sid ...

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
