    Unanswered: String Comparison

    I'm attempting to compare what appear to be two string values (they're VIN numbers) and for some unkown reason Access says they are not the same. When they are. I know this must be a setting someplace. Any ideas.

    They're part of an update query. Something like

    UPDATE tblImprt, tblVehicles SET tblImprt.v_num = tblVehicles.v_number
    WHERE (((tblImprt.[Customer Vehicle ID])=[tblVehicles].[v_vin]));

    The weird thing is that 9 of the comparisons work and the rest don't. I could understand none of them but nine. The VINs in each table are the same but for some reason they won't update.

    I join the two tables on the VINs and I get the same result. Only 9 matching vins although they all match. Anybody?
