    Question Unanswered: Finishing touches

Hi all, I have recently finished creating a database in Access and was wondering if it is possible to create an icon on the desktop that users can click on and it brings up the forms only. Is there a way that the database can run without having to open up Access each time? People always seem to fiddle with design and tables without knowing what they are doing so I thought it would be good if I can remove the temptation from them. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

To make your application a stand-alone unit, you will need to use the Access Development Kit.

If you simply want to hide the MS-Access parent window, this to can be done but is rather tricky and cumbersome.

If you simply don't what users to fiddle with the design of your application, then convert is to a MDE file (via the Tools | Database utilities | Make MDE File... menu item). As a MDE file, users can do nothing to modify your database and there is no way for them to access the VBA code.
