Post Unanswered: Oracle and AIX OS

    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this information about AIX paging. What kind of paging does oracle use in the AIX operating system. Is it file paging or computational paging

Appreciate if anyone can provide me with some answer.

All oracle database files, if they are jfs(not raw) will use file system cache; oracle code, oracle buffers(buffer cache, javapool etc.) are considered computational; in AIX maxperm/minperm settings default to 80/20; you should change it to something like 30/2 depending on your memory size
