    Unanswered: self join in oracle

i'm formulating an sql for my oracle 8i
i'm just wondering if it is safe to assume that
i will only have i pair of where clause
since i'm implementing a self join

meaning i will always have something like this in my where clause

    where a.item_num = b.item_grp_num

and i dont need to consider other where clauses
    that may include something like

    where a.item_num = b.item_grp_num and a.iten_name = b.Temp_name

    thnaks in advance....

Surely that would depend on what columns identify records in the table? If it has a composite key then you will have 2 or more conditions in the join.
