    Unanswered: How to change color with condition?

    I created a report with a subsummary. I display the average of student attendance for all the courses token. And I want to change the color of the background each time the result is less than 85%.
    It's a flag that said the student has been absent so often.

    Howdy! I think you can do what you want, but I'm afraid I don't know how to do it. What you can do in the mean time, though, is create a companion calc field that will show a red-text "LOW ATTENDANCE" flag phrase or symbol if attendance < 85%, otherwise it is blank (and does not show). I forget FM syntax exactly, but logically something like...

    flag =
    if attendance < 85%, "LOW ATTENDANCE", ""

    OR basically, if condtion, then result, else other result

    Hope this helps some!

    Talking Conditional Field Color

    Ok, here's the way to do this in FM7.
    There are other ways in other versions but this is by far the easiest.

    ************
    Create a global container field with 2 repetitions and place on a layout you won't use for the end user. This holds two colors. The easy way to fill it with Red is to create a red box on the layout and while still in layout mode COPY to the clipboard. Switch to Browse and PASTE into the first container option.

    Create a SECOND container field -
    1 repetition
    Auto Entry calculation Evaluate Always.
    Calculation =
    Case (StudentAttendance<85;
    GetRepetition(Container1;1);
    GetRepetition(Container1;2))

    Place Container2 behind the field you want to highlight.

    Done.
