Unanswered: MS SQL Enterprise Manager Copy and Paste bug
My client has a table tblclients with a varchar column (faxno) which has a default value of '' (Empty String) and it does accepts NULL values. I am not allowed to change the NULL settings because of other reasons.
When I open this table in Enterprise Manager and copy one row which contains an empty faxno value (empty but not NULL) and paste it as a new row, the Enterprise Manager bypasses the default constraint and inserts NULL into the new row.
This is yet another strange Enterprise Manager Only bug.
Has anyone seen this or has a fix for this other than a Trigger? I can't find a reference to this bug on MSDN.
