    Are you talking of Web server ?

    Hi ,

    Unable to get your point clearly. Still if you want to connect to Oracle by DSN method you need the oracle ODBC driver. We mainly work with that . You need to create system dsn .

    Please make sure you are not talking of other machine than the Web server where asp codes are running ;

    Thanks and regards,

    Yes. I am talking about web server.
    My hosting provider does not have oracle support but I need to connect to a remote server using odbc or any other method.

    What's wrong with using JDBC?
    On a slightly different topic, I question the security (or lack thereof).
    I get the impression that the webserver is at one location while the database is at a second location, and you plan/desire to use the 'Net to exchange packets
    between these two sites.
    If this is true, loud alarm bells are sounding in my head.
    I would NOT want to have to support or be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the data in the database that is being accessed by a webserver NOT under my direct control.
    If I could find your webserver, I suspect & could gain unauthorized access to the data in the DB.
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
    The average person thinks he's above average!
    For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
    Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
