    Unanswered: Report and Form Maintenance!

    Hi!

I'm working on this database that somebody else built (sound familiar?). To make this easy, let's say there is:
    1 table
4 forms, all identical in design, controlled by queries...
4 queries, to accommodate each form
4 reports, all identical as well, to present output from the four forms

    Here is the dillemma:

every time I want to make a change to any form or report, I have to duplicate the changes four times! Possibly eight, if I need to add a field, etc.

I have not been able to brainstorm up a good way to work around this... Ideally, I would like to only have one report and one form for all.

As I write this, an answer comes to mind... That being to create a form that presents the fields the queries are based off of as selectable items, with a refresh each time one of them is modified... hmmm

Either way, does anybody else have any suggestions on how to slim down?

    thanks!

Access Version???? This is easy if you're using Access 2002 and up ... (Use the OpenArgs property to pass the query name to run the report on) ...
Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...

    Thumbs up

Sweet! That's exactly what I was looking for. I have decided to use a combination of Option Groups on the form and OpenArgs to "achieve the desired results"!!

    Thanks, M...
