    Unanswered: saving parapgrahs

    Hello,

I have a field that requires paragraphs to be saved. I have tried saving as a blog and text but am still only recieving one lump of text.

Im connecting to the table via ADOdb and php. Its for a website.

Anyidea how I can save paragraphs in the table itself?

    Thanks

    Jon

    Hello Jon,
Both BLOB and TEXT have the same maximum length which is 65,535 characters. If you need something more than that you can use the flollowing column types:

MEDIUMTEXT or MEDIUMBLOB - 16,777,215 characters
LONGTEXT or LONGBLOB - 4,294,967,295 characters

for more information visit mysql website.

If you output your query in html file then use <pre>DB QUERY OUTPUT</pre> tag to preserve text format. HTML ignores white space.

    Hai...

If you want to preserve the formating for the paragraph which you r storing in the table, you can do so my storing the HTML tags also with the paragraph. So when you retrieve and show the paragraph in the php page, the formatting will be intact.

    Hope this helps you....
