Unanswered: Macro to Format datatype of a cell

I am unfamilar with vb and excel and I was wondering how you I could write a macro so it sets the format of the column(s) everytime. In this case I want all columns to be in type general unless it is a number or a date. Thank you so much guys

Having a quick back over the posts and noticed this one didnt have an answer so just in case you havn't solved this one yet,

Have a Look at the NumberFormat Property of the Range Object in the Help File this lets you change the format of the cells in the same way that you would in the custom Option of the Format cells dialog box
