Hi guys,
I don't like post here asking for help too much, but I just can't seem to figure out this little problem here, so I figured I would stop by and ask for help from the pros here You guys probably won't find this difficult at all.

I am working on a large log inventory system for the company I work for. What I am trying to do is ad a button on a form that I made that would duplicate a record, while adding an extension to one of the log numbers. Here is an example:

Log m2 Grade
17134 225.14 pa

after duplication:

Log m2 Grade
17134 225.14 pa
17134f 225.14 pa

Here is what I have been trying:

Sub duplicate_Click()
Dim logext As String, strMsg As String, mySQL As String, newlog As String
On Error GoTo Err_duplicate_Click

strMsg = "Please an extension:"
logext = InputBox(Prompt:=strMsg, _
Title:="Log Split", XPos:=2000, YPos:=2000)
answer = MsgBox([Log] & logext, vbOK, "Correct log number?")
newlog = [Log] & logext
mySQL = "INSERT INTO Clipped (Log) VALUES ( newlog )"
DoCmd.SetWarnings False
DoCmd.RunSQL mySQL
DoCmd.SetWarnings True

Exit Sub

MsgBox Err.Description
Resume Exit_duplicate_Click

If anyone can shed some light on how to do this that would be great! Thanks in advance for trying
