    Unanswered: Junk table names in 10g

    Hi,
    I have a strange behaviour in my Oracle 10g server. I created few tables using batch files, inserted data, then ran some select statements to verify if scripts have run correctly. No indexes, no foreign key references were implemented. Then i dropped those tables and ran

    SELECT * FROM TAB;

    The output is as below...

    TNAME TABTYPE CLUSTERID
    ------------------------------ ------- ----------
    DEPT TABLE
    EMP TABLE
    BONUS TABLE
    SALGRADE TABLE
    BIN$QyP7dKYBQ+i1g0PnLlv23A==$0 TABLE
    BIN$YFVzFaV3Tb+8cBQuWn8/3Q==$0 TABLE
    BIN$pXp762zzRYyp1YcKt2jOaA==$0 TABLE
    BIN$ES46Iyw6QJGAbX2uqVaoRQ==$0 TABLE
    BIN$s+0Ukc3LTmCEoJ5SeZuD5w==$0 TABLE
    BIN$zLY3kgP2ToGlbNmlIwdWKw==$0 TABLE
    BIN$EwT1V/QxQ4OiQQXe/CB1Uw==$0 TABLE

    TNAME TABTYPE CLUSTERID
    ------------------------------ ------- ----------
    BIN$hPw3LEbUR8ijlfvtNHEYYA==$0 TABLE
    BIN$yOvGmLW9Rnickjyp9t5T+w==$0 TABLE
    TCATEGORY_HEADER TABLE
    BIN$YO/rUelqQPKp7YsdyTgksg==$0 TABLE

    Any idea why i'm getting these junk table names ?

    I tried to drop a database and recreate and ran the same batch files to create, insert and drop the tables...but same behaviour is seen.

    I'm running Oracle 10g on Win2K server.

    Thanks,

    10G has a "recycle bin": your tables have not been dropped completely. Use the PURGE command to empty the bin.
