    Question Unanswered: create DB2 user

I'd like to create new users on my DB2 database on a Windows 2000 server.
    I'm new in DB2 administration.

I saw db2 users needs to be created like a server user before creating in the DB2 database.

Is there a way to create a DB2 user without creating an OS user ?
If we can't how can I create my DB2 users without ability to connect to the server ?

There are no separate "DB2 users" - DB2 uses its host operating system for authentication.

Can you create the OS user _after_ you've created the Database user? Or do you have to create the OS user first?

You don't need to explicitly create a db user, just go ahead and grant privileges to the OS user or OS group and the user gets created from that. It is OK to do the SQL grants in DB2 before or after the actual OS user is created.
