    Unanswered: Microsoft Acces runtime files?

    Hi.

This is a fairly simple question. If i use a Microsoft Access database in my VB application, will there be any runtime files needed when distributing the application? Also, if the user doesn't have Access installed on his computer, will my program still be able to access the database?

    Thanks

    In short yes
If you make an installation package it should handle the DLL's required, and it won't be just the Access DLL's. It is possible, or even probable that your client machines will already have some or even all of the DLL's, but you dont' know what version or what they have.

    Thanks for the reply.
I was thinking about making two set ups of my program, one small set up without the DLLs, and one complete set up with the DLLs. And put a description page saying if you get the following error when you download the app through the small set up, please download the complete one. How does that sound?

Also, can you tell me which DLLs are needed for Ms.Access XP, ADO 2.5, and the app coded in VB 6?
