Unanswered: Database Crash - Need Help

    Hello,

i am a newbie on Sybase Databases.
We used a Sybase Database (11.9.2) on Redhat Linux. Yesterday the server crashed - one of the Raid5 Disks had a head-crash..

Now i can´t reboot the Linux System (after the raid-rebuild - why ever..).
But i can boot it with a Boot-CD and was able to recover the hole
    DATA directory.

    There are:

    master.dat
    sybase_log
    sysystempprocs.dat
    SO_data
    SO_log
    sybas_data

All other files are lost ;(

I copied the files to another Server (win2k server) which has a sybase server too.

    The Question:
    How can i restore/import these Files/Databases to the W2K-Sybase?

    Thanks for helpfull hints.

    David

    U could try this

If you have dumps of the database of ASE(Linux) you can create a new ASE and restore from the dump . If you do not have the dumps then you can create a new ASE (Linux) server and then create the databases as it was there originally before crash and do a bcp out of the data in the Win2K server and you can then do a bcp in to the Linux server.
