    hi,

    i had a problem with a stackoverflow (maybe unlucky FixPack installed) and uninstalled the hole DB2.

    I installed the DB2 with another FixPack and tryed to create a
    Database but i got the Error:

    E/A-Fehler während des Zugriffs auf das Datenbankverzeichnis.
    SQLSTATE=58031

    SQL1039C

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Check your db2diag.log, it will probably have the path that's failing.

    Do a "db2 list database directory" - what's the output?

    thanks for your answer.

    it was a problem with the installation.

    i create a new instance as a repository and the application works.

    unfortunately all the (user) data is in the other instance where
    i get the STACKOVERFLOW...

    is it possible to ovoid this error (overflow) ?

    When you create a new instance the database directory is reset.

    Can you post the full error you're getting? Is it a db2 error?? I would - as root - run "db2iupdt" on the instance to start, just to make sure everything is clean.
