Unanswered: Applicatin in "Pending result from remote datasource" state can't be forced

    Hi,

One per day some random application stays in "Pending result from remote datasource" state. I tried to force application from local database and force is not applied.

Is there any other way to force application beside "force application (app_id)" command?

    My system: DB2 v8 FP6 on Linux S/390
Remote federated database system: DB2 for VSE v7.2

    Thanks,
    Grofaty

Did you check for in-doubt threads? There are commands for indentifying and resolving these.

    remote pending

it means the local does not know what is going on on the remote db
logon to vse and on console or isql : show connect
check status of application and do a force on vse console if needed..

    Hi przytula,

I have already forced all remote applications on vse system. But applications connected to linux server stays in "Pending result from remote datasource" state. This applications can't be forced with "force application" command.

    Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

"Application in pending state" locks local tables and a lot of lock-wait applications have appeard. So, I have tried to stop database server with command "db2stop force" but database server can't be stoped!!! So I needed to reboot Linux server.

This is temporaly solution, but I am afraid that this problem will reappear. Any idea how to solve problem without rebooting Linux system? This is production environment and it can't be rebooted at any time. I have pretty serious problem. Any idea how to solved it?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Today this "pending state" application has reappear.
I also try to execute the following command:
    Code:
    list indoubt transactions
    But the result was:
    Code:
SQL1251W No data returned for heuristic query. SQLSTATE=00000
The only solution I have is reboot Linux. This is production environment and this metod is not disared.

Does anyone has some idea how to force "pending" state application from local database?

    Thanks,
    Grofaty
