I use Oracle 9i, UTF8, multi-lingual database.

I read in the Oracle docs as well as “ask tom” and found that AL32UTF8 supports new code points of Unicode 3.1 vs. UTF8 that supports Unicode 3.0 only.

1. What is recommended (by Oracle) to be used in a multi-lingual database?
2. Why?
3. Are there any pitfalls with the answer in (1)?
