Unanswered: Creating Instance of SQL 2000

I installed SQL 2000 server and I didn't install an instance of it (at least I don't think so). How would I install an instance now?

    Thumbs up

My understanding of your question is that you already have a default instance of SQL Server in your box and now want to install one more named instance to it.

If my understanding is right, then what you have to do is to start the SQL Server installation procedure and after some 3 or 4 steps, the installation program will ask you whether you want to create a new named instance, at that point you have to select named instance and then enter a name for your new instance.

Well I have an instance of SQL Express 2005. I want to install a SQL Server 2000 instance, which would be my first instance of an SQL Server 2000, do I need hte CD?
