    Unanswered: CLOB datatype with LOGGED option

    Hi,

    Is there any equivalent for the below DB2 DDL :

    create table test(col1 CLOB(2000) NOT LOGGED NOT COMPACT);

    Specifically I need the equivalent for NOT LOGGED NOT COMPACT keywords of DB2.

    Please advice,

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hi,

    I don't know what the NOT LOGGED/COMPACT options mean, do they apply to the table or the CLOB? I assume the table, but I think you need to explain the DB2 purpose for someone here to offer the Oracle equivalent (where possible).

    But...
    Code:
    CREATE TABLE MY_TABLE
      (
      SomeStandardDataTypeColumns....
      CLOB_A CLOB,
      BLOB_B BLOB
      ) LOB (CLOB_A,BLOB_B)
          STORE AS (TABLESPACE <LOBTABLESPACENAME>
          ENABLE STORAGE IN ROW PCTVERSION 40 NOCACHE NOLOGGING )
    TABLESPACE <TABLESPACENAME>;
    You'll have to read up on the various (numerous) LOB storage options.

    Please don't email me directly with questions. I've probably just got home from the pub and cannot guarantee the sanity of my answers. In fact, I can't believe I actually made it home.

    hi,

    Thanks for both your replies. LOGGED in CLOB will log the details in a log file.
