    A hyperlink is stored as a text string, even in Access. The Access interface interprets the string as hyperlink and opens the browser when it is clicked. So the ability to open the link is a function of the Access interface, not the Access database engine or storage system.
    SQL Server is purely a database engine, so you will need to code this functionality into your interface, whether it is VB, DotNet, C#, or whatever.
    If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

    Kindly tell us what interface you are using, because as I said this is a function of the interface, not the database server.
    You may also have better luck posting on a forum dedicated to whatever interface development platform you are using.

    Hyper Link in SQL Server

    I am using VB 6.0 as Interface. We are trying to store the PDF file's link(newspaper clippings). So while quering we should get this path with link to file which actually stored in another computer.

    Now tell me how to do this. Thanks for your response.

    Private Sub lblURL_Click()
    OpenURL lblURL.Caption

    The "link-ness" is a client side GUI characteristic, not a data characteristic. In VB 6:

    1) Create a button or label that suits your GUI
    2) In it's Click event, if mylink is your link value (path or UNC), use:
    Code:
    shell(mylink)
    3) Try it, you'll like it!
