    I presume you have this in a form:

    <input <%if (CStr(Recordset1.Fields.Item("checkboxname").Value ) = CStr("True")) Then
    Response.Write ("CHECKED") : Response.Write("")%>
    type "checkbox" name="checkboxformname"
    value ="<%=(Recordset1.Fields.Item("checkboxname").Value %>">

    In my code I keep this all on one line

    Hope this helps

    Which package are you using?
    Dreamweaver MX gives you the option to assign a dynamic value to a drop down or list box
