    Unanswered: Ingres start-up error

I'm an Ingres newbie recently charged with administering the database on HP 9000 hardware...I've got the engine running, but on system reboot, I get an
'can't find ingstart.log' error...that's when the engine tries to start on reboot...after the box is up, I run ingstart w/o any errors...what am I missing here?

Is the directory where the log file is in on a partition/disk etc that gets mounted after the attempted startup by chance?

Did a quick test. I stopped ingres and then started it as root so no ingres environment varialbes where set. i got a simular error to yours.

I would think your startup command either runs ingstart as root or it's not setting the ingres environment correctly

    Hope this helps
