    Unanswered: Problems with a newly created user.

    i have an existing table named CORE
    here is the sql script used to create the table.

    define DataFilePath = 'D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\MOTORODB';
    DROP TABLESPACE CORE INCLUDING CONTENTS;
    CREATE TABLESPACE CORE DATAFILE '&DataFilePath\CORE.DBF' SIZE 200M REUSE
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 100M MAXSIZE 4000M;

    DROP USER CORE CASCADE;
    CREATE USER CORE IDENTIFIED BY DN_CORE
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE CORE
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP
    QUOTA UNLIMITED ON CORE;

    GRANT ADLIB_ALL,ADLIB_SELECT,APPLICATION_USER TO CORE;

    if i login to sql plus using the core user
    and performed the sql statement below

    SELECT DISTINCT OWNER
    FROM ALL_TABLES

    i get the following
    ADLIB
    CORE
    MOTORO_MASTER
    SYS
    SYSTEM

    ------
    here is my problem

    i created a new user called excel
    the sql script that i used is the following

    DROP USER EXCEL CASCADE;
    CREATE USER EXCEL IDENTIFIED BY IMPORT
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE CORE
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP
    QUOTA UNLIMITED ON EXCEL;

    GRANT ADLIB_ALL,ADLIB_SELECT,APPLICATION_USER TO EXCEL;

    i placed the user excel under the core tablespace....

    if i login to sql plus using the excel user
    and performed the sql statement below

    SELECT DISTINCT OWNER
    FROM ALL_TABLES

    i get the following
    ADLIB
    MOTORO_MASTER
    SYS
    SYSTEM

    my problem is that, it cannot see CORE Owner
    is there a problem with they authority that i am using????

    EXCEL has no table objects yet and has not been granted select on core.tables

    The tablespace isn't relevant, although giving it the same name as a user account might lead to confusion.

    I would want to look in ALL_TABLES to see this table belonging to the newly created CORE user who hasn't created any tables yet.
