    Unanswered: shell commands without emulator?

Is there a way, for example, for a vb program to send shell commands to a unix box directly, without a emulator intermediary? All I want to do is kick off a script and wait for text results to be returned but don't want to use an emulator if possible.

    Thanks,

    Larry

    Shell

you can use the shell command to send what ever you can send in a command line prompt but it works asyncroneously. Though you can store the pid in a variable and then check (with a timer maybe) if the process still running.
to err is human ; to really mess things up requires a computer
