    Unanswered: On HP-UNIX server,unable to create INITIAL extent for segment error

    Hi,

    We have HP-UNIX standard edition oracle server.

    When we try to import data we get this error

    . . importing table "ABC" 0 rows imported
    CREATE TABLE ABC...

    IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 1658:
    IMP-00003: ORACLE error 1658 encountered
    ORA-01658: unable to create INITIAL extent for segment in tablespace PC_DATA
    IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 1658:

    Any clue???

    Before you post:

    thats not the reason

    Thats not the reason,It says file too large error on HP-UNIX.

    I heard we need to make some kernel settings to handle large files.
