    Unanswered: Restore

    I have a v6 windows db2 backup file and i want to restore it on a v7 windows.
    I do the followings actions :
    create database from backup
    and when i launch the job i have the following error SQL2542N

    Restore It.

    Hi.

    Please use the restore command to do the same. It will help you. You might have to use the redirect option and set the tablespace containers path to their new locations if you are using DMS containers.

    Please refer to the Data Movement Utilities Guide and Reference for more help.

    DB2 backup images on Windows are a little funky... when you select where the backup image is, make sure you point to the top level directory.

    Ie: if your backup is something like this:
    C:\BLAH\SAMPLE.0\DB2\NODE0000\... etc

    Point your RESTORE to C:\BLAH

    Not the actual file image.
