    Unanswered: dbms_utility.compile_schema

    Why, when running these commands, will vw_test be invalid....

    (in the scott schema that comes with 9i)

    Code:
    create table test (col1 varchar2(10));

    create view vw_test as select * from test;

    drop table test;

    create table test (col1 varchar2(10));

    execute dbms_utility.compile_schema('SCOTT',TRUE);
    ....and what do I do to fix it.

    thanks,
    You're obsessed and distressed 'cuz you can't make any sense
    Of the ludicrous nonsense and incipient senescence
    That will deem your common sense useless

    use DBMS_STATS.ANALYZE_SCHEMA instead.
    DBMS_UTILITY is only kept around for backward compatibility to version 7 (or something like that)
