    Unanswered: Duplicate

Im trying to end duplicate records. i have a field called CFR_LINESEQ and CFR_DCN. NOw i dont want the same number for CFR_LINESEQ. So if the CFR_DCN is d0100011111 and the CFR_LINESEQ is 01 i dont want 01 to show again if it does i wnat a msg box alerting the user of a dup CFR_LINSEQ. BUt the CFR_LINESEQ can be 01-05 without any dups for the CFR_LINESEQ

    thanks

    example would be good .

You can't do that at the table level. Please be more specific about the user data entry process.
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

    set indexed-unique in table design.

not clear (to me!!) from ur post if you want fieldA+fieldB to be unique or just fieldA to be unique... either way, you can define a multi-field index in Access and set it to unique.

I may be missing the point but, could you not set the properties for CFR_LINESEQ to no duplicates?
