    Unanswered: VBA References

Hi, how do I make sure a reference under tools -> references is not needed?

Do I just untick one, click ok and then do a compile or is there a better way of doing it?

Here is a little document I picked up somewhere. It has some functions that may assist you. It was writen for Access97 but you can implement the functions for Access2K+ quite easily.

I'm not certain, but I thought Access didn't care if you had references ticked which were not used, as the compiler ignored references that were not activated through code.

Yeah but I want to get rid of unused references, no point wasting system resources, any ideas anybody?

Make note of the reference, uncheck it, then compile your entire database.

If no compile errors occur, then you should be good to go.

    Hope this helps,
