Hello there...

i use VB6 sp5... and:
- MS ADO Ext. 2.8 for DLL and Security
- MS ActiveX Data Objects 2.8 Library
- MS Jet and Replication Objects 2.6 Library

i use the following code to CREATE a DATABASE...
Code:
Dim oCat As ADOX.Catalog
Set oCat = New ADOX.Catalog
oCat.Create "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & _
   "Data Source=.\Data.mdb;" & _
   "Jet OLEDB:Engine Type=5;"
... and the following to CREATE a TABLE...
Code:
Dim MyConn As ADODB.Connection
Set MyConn = New ADODB.Connection
MyConn.ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=.\Data.mdb;"
MyConn.Open
MyConn.Execute _
        "CREATE TABLE " & strSomeName & _
        "(ID INTEGER IDENTITY(1,1) PRIMARY KEY," & _
         "Contact VARCHAR(12) NOT NULL," & _
         "Categorie VARCHAR(20) NOT NULL," & _
         "Locatie VARCHAR(15) NOT NULL," & _
         "Bedrijf VARCHAR(25) NOT NULL," & _
         "Onderwerp VARCHAR(25) NOT NULL," & _
         "Tussenpersoon VARCHAR(25)," & _
         "BeginDatum VARCHAR(10) NOT NULL," & _
         "VerloopDatum VARCHAR(10) NOT NULL," & _
         "VerloopDag VARCHAR(10) NOT NULL," & _
         "VerloopTermijn VARCHAR(15) NOT NULL," & _
         "Kosten VARCHAR(15) NOT NULL," & _
         "Opmerkingen VARCHAR(120)," & _
         "Voldaan VARCHAR(3) NOT NULL)"
MyConn.Close
Set MyConn = Nothing
... and to open it again...
Code:
Dim MyConn As ADODB.Connection
Dim MyRecSet As ADODB.RecordSet
Set MyConn = New ADODB.Connection
Set MyRecSet = New ADODB.RecordSet
MyConn.ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data
MyConn.Open
strSQL = "SELECT * FROM " & tablename & "ORDER BY Categorie ASC, VerloopDag DESC"
MyRecSet.Open strSQL, MyConn, adOpenStatic ' <-- gives me the 'unknown' error...
somehow...
i cant open my table...
not in Acces... nor with the visual data manager...
i keep getting an error popup which tells me "unknown"...
