    Unanswered: host.myi Damaged -- How to fix this?

    Hello everybody. Got a linux server with debian and mysql on it. After the computer crashed today, mysql doesn't start up and tells me that host.myi is damaged. How can I fix this?
    Thanks in advance

    Try:
    mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables &
    use mysql;
    REPAIR TALBE host USE_FRM;
    \q
    kill %1
    restart MySQL normally

    You may lose the data in the host table but it sounds like it's lost already.

    MYI is the index file so there a chance that your mysql.host table is not lost

    You need to use myisamchk -r q to recover the index file and restart mysql

    How do I fix the grant tables?

    Codenode,

    I am getting:

    Didn't find any fields in table 'columns_priv'
    Didn't find any fields in table 'tables_priv'

    I used your advice to fix all the other tables, how do I fix this?

    Thanks,
    -Jimjimbobim
