Ok right now i have a simple login and register page. Now i would like my users to use their own username and password. Right now my website is fuled by
username: Last name
Password : User choses

Now i have two databases. One where the password goes(test) and the other where all the information is stored(info). Im goign to use ss# to fuel the site.

So when a user registers they are going to register using first name, lastname, ss#,username, password.
When the user logins in using username and password i want to be able to show his information based on that username and password tying in the ss# to let the databas eknow whos logging in and what information to grab

How could i do this i seen it done on any login where user pics their own login information and the site is fuled by tying soemthing togther. I think i neeed help with the select statement??

Thanks Pete

Heres sample code

<?php
if(!isset($_POST['name']) || !isset($_POST['password']))
{
?>
<?php
}
else
{
$mysql= mysql_pconnect('lot','e','9t');
if(!$mysql)
{
echo'cannot connect to database';
exit;
}
$mysql=mysql_select_db('eh');
if(!$mysql)
{
echo'Cannont select database5';
exit;
}
$name = $_POST['name'];
$password = $_POST['password'];
$query ="select count(*) from test where
name='$name' and
pass='$password'";
$result =mysql_query($query);
if(!$result)
{
echo'error';
exit;
}
$count = mysql_result($result,0,0);
if($count > 0)
{
?>

This works by using Lastname from my info test database and the post of the login.
